Workshop Dust Extraction

Every workshop is different: different machines, different dust, different layout. That is why there is no single dust extraction solution that fits everywhere. What does apply everywhere is this: the closer you extract dust to the source, the less of it ends up in the air and on the shop floor. The question, therefore, is not whether to extract at the source, but how to organize it: mobile, central, or a combination of both.
Central dust extraction for the workshop
Do you have multiple machines running simultaneously every day? Then central dust extraction is usually the best choice. A single installation with ductwork serves multiple extraction points, rather than a collection of separate units. This saves space on the shop floor and keeps maintenance, such as changing filters, in one location. Noise levels can also be effectively reduced, as the fan and filter unit can be placed outside the immediate work area.
Mobile vacuum or filter unit
Do you work with smaller machines or does your workspace change frequently? A mobile industrial vacuum cleaner or filter unit offers the flexibility you need: you can place it exactly where it’s required. Consider the Ergonomic, a compact and agile vacuum for fine dust, or the Heavy Duty for cleaning workshops and warehouses. Looking for something between mobile and stationary? The Dustmaster 1200 can be used as a mobile or stationary filter unit, for source extraction or connection to a central system.
Fine dust extraction in the workshop
When it comes to fine dust, it’s not just about how much air you extract, but primarily about what the filter captures. That’s why you should choose a system that matches the dust produced by your specific operations, whether you are sawing, grinding, or sanding. For very fine or explosive dust, additional filtration or an ATEX-certified version may be required, such as the Dustmaster 9.000, a fine dust filter unit suitable for use in ATEX zones.
