Filter plates are designed for processes with a high dust load, sticky material, or filters that clog quickly. During the baseline assessment, Kiekens assesses the dust behaviour and any current maintenance issues. When operational reliability and powerful cleaning are important, filter plates can be a suitable fit.
The open, flat lamella structure is designed to remain easy to clean. Combined with powerful Jet-Pulse cleaning, accumulated dust can be effectively removed from the filter surface.
The generous pleating and integrated venturi ensure the filter plate can be efficiently cleaned even with more difficult dust types. This keeps air resistance more manageable, allowing the filter to keep performing optimally for longer.
Yes. Filter plates are specifically used for sticky and abrasive applications. The right version remains dependent on the exact dust properties. During the baseline assessment, Kiekens therefore examines, among other things, wear and adhesion.
Kiekens supplies filter plates in various versions, including PE, PE with PTFE coating, antistatic variants (PE-AS), ePTFE, and combinations thereof. Depending on the selected filter medium, residual dust levels below 0.5 mg/m³ or even 0.1 mg/m³ are achievable. During the baseline assessment, Kiekens determines which filter material best matches the dust properties, temperature, and process conditions.
A filter that clogs quickly increases resistance and can reduce extraction performance. The easily cleanable lamella structure and Jet-Pulse cleaning are designed to keep the airflow stable. This can limit maintenance moments and unplanned disruption.
The actual lifespan depends heavily on the production process. Abrasiveness, temperature, chemical load, cleaning settings, and operating hours all play a role. That's why Kiekens recommends condition-based maintenance.
Certified ATEX versions are available. However, for explosive dust, the entire dust extraction installation must be assessed. Filter material, grounding, and any explosion protection measures are part of the overall risk analysis.
Especially when rapid clogging, frequent filter changes, or maintenance-related downtime increase current costs. Good cleanability and longer lifespan can then outweigh the filter's purchase price alone.
Filter plates are designed for integration into suitable Kiekens installations. Whether an existing installation is directly suitable depends on the filter housing, cleaning system, and process conditions. Kiekens can assess this during an inspection or baseline assessment.
We look at the dust load, available space, desired cleanability, and maintenance goals. Filter plates are not an automatic choice for every process. The filter type is selected as part of the complete extraction solution.
