Filter cartridges

Where space is limited and fine dust quickly accumulates, filter cartridges offer a powerful solution.
Filter cartridges are easy to install, simple to maintain, and – despite their compact design – deliver a high filtration rate. Thanks to automatic compressed air cleaning (jet-pulse), performance remains consistently high without the need for manual maintenance.
Advantages at a glance:
- Efficient filtration in tight spaces
- Quick and easy replacement
- Cost-effective solution
- Integrated in many Kiekens systems

unique approach
Filter cartridges are particularly interesting for dry dust, limited installation space, and processes where a lot of filter surface is needed in a compact housing. During the baseline assessment, Kiekens assesses the dust load and cleanability of the material.
The pleated filter medium increases the effective filter surface within a compact shape. For the product line, a total filter area of 2.2 to 20 m² is stated. This makes cartridges interesting when installation space is limited.
The filter cartridges can be automatically cleaned with Jet-Pulse compressed air. Compressed air blasts remove dust from the filter surface. The cleaning settings must, however, match the dust and load to prevent unnecessary wear.
The product information states filter class M, an emission level below 1.0 mg/Nm³, and a filter area of 2.2 to 20 m². Actual performance is also influenced by sealing, air load, and filter condition.
Filter cartridges are available in an ATEX version. For combustible dust, Kiekens always assesses the complete system. Filter medium, static electricity, grounding, and explosion protection must be treated as a single safety question.
An advantage of filter cartridges is the relatively simple installation and replacement. The exact procedure depends on the installation. For hazardous substances, Kiekens also considers the exposure risk during the filter change.
The age of the cartridge alone is not decisive. A structurally higher pressure drop, damage, or declining cleanability can indicate wear or saturation. Periodic inspection therefore provides a more reliable maintenance moment.
Not automatically. Filter cartridges can be a budget-conscious solution, but the lowest purchase price doesn't always mean the lowest total cost of ownership. With heavy, sticky, or abrasive dust loads, another filter type may perform better.
Filter cartridges are used in various Kiekens installations. Whether they fit an existing configuration depends on the filter housing, Jet-Pulse system, and process conditions. Kiekens can assess the technical suitability.
We compare dust load, dust behaviour, available space, desired cleaning, and maintenance costs. Filter cartridges are compact, filter bags fit well with stable loads, and filter plates excel with high or difficult dust loads. The choice follows from the process.
